The State Department admitted Thursday it postponed a $400 million payment to Iran in January until a group of Americans held in the country was released -- but not all media outlets apparently saw it as a top story. The New York Times published an extensive report Monday examining Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s work for a pro-Russian party in Ukraine – but despite pointing to it as a “rising issue” in the presidential campaign, glossed over its own past reporting on the Clintons’ Russian coections. The latest article detailed ledgers purportedly showing more than $12 million earmarked for Manafort by the pro-Russian party. According to the Times, investigators claim they were part of an illicit off-the-books operation, though Manafort denies ever getting such payments. The IRS confirmed in a letter it is looking into claims of “pay-to-play” practices at the Clinton Foundation, after dozens of Republican lawmakers requested a review of potential “criminal conduct” at the organization founded by the family at the center of this week’s Democratic National Convention. Commissioner John Koskinen wrote in a July 22 letter to Republican Rep. Marsha Blackbu that the issue has been “forwarded” to the IRS “Exempt Organizations Examinations” program in Dallas. “This program considers all referrals and will send you a separate acknowledgement letter when it receives your information,” he wrote, in a letter first reported by The Daily Caller. PHILADELPHIA – Hillary Clinton took a historic step closer Tuesday to fulfilling her dream of shattering what she once called “that highest, hardest glass ceiling”when Democratic delegates at the party's national convention in Philadelphia officially nominated her as their candidate for president – making the former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state the first woman to top a major party presidential ticket. South Dakota’s delegation put her over the top in the tally, but it was ex-primary foe Beie Sanders who closed out the roll call and made her nomination official after his home state of Vermont cast its votes. “I move that Hillary Clinton be selected as the nominee of t...

The trail of evidence on the DNC servers includes malicious code used to steal emails and documents, according to Bob Gourley, co-founder and partner at strategic consulting firm Cognitio and former chief technology officer (CTO) at the DIA. “Forensic evidence points pretty clearly to a very sophisticated nation state,” he said. “...
