Ava Bye (Pennsylvania State Police ) DEVELOPING: Pennsylvania authorities have canceled an amber alert for a 3-year-old girl they say was abducted and perhaps taken to the NewYork City area, FOX5NY reported. No further details - including her current location - were immediately available. Related Image Expand / Contract Robert Bye (Pennsylvania State Police ) The alert was issued Friday for Ava Bye, who was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on Vine Street in Nescopeck Borough, Pa., according to the Pennsylvania State Police.  Authorities said at the time they believed the girl was kidnapped by 24-year-old Robert Bye and could be in great danger.  Ava, who has curly brown hair and hazel eyes, was last seen wearing only her diaper, according to police. The body of Alayna Jeanne Ertl was found in Cass County, about 200 miles north of Minneapolis. The suspect in her disappearance, family friend Zachary Anderson, 26, has been arrested and his vehicle confiscated, police say. “This is not a stranger-type situation,” said Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze told WCCO-TV. “The suspect is a co-worker, family friend of the child’s father,” Cruze said. (Hot Springs Police Department) A 4-year-old Arkansas girl who was taken into protective custody after being zip-tied to her bed as punishment by her mother and her mother’s boyfriend thought her name was “idiot,” police said. Jennifer Diane Denen, 30 and Clarence Eugene Reed, 47, were arrested last Friday on suspicion of domestic battery, permitting the abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor. Hot Springs police officers responded to Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center after human services workers and center employees examined the girl and determined she had been abused, according to an arrest report. REXBURG, Idaho –  A family camping in easte Idaho scared off a mountain lion that tried to snatch their 4-year-old daughter away from a campfire. Idaho Fish and Game said Saturday that the cougar dropped the girl and left Friday evening after family members yelled at the animal. The child had a few scratches but no other injuries. [embedded content] The family was camping near Green Canyon Hot Springs east of Rexburg and had spotted the mountain lion in the area earlier that day. Fish and Game regional conservation educator Gregg Losinski said such sightings and attacks are unusual. With the help of a local hound hunter, agency officials tracked the cougar to a tree a few hundred yards from the camp about 2 a.m. Saturday. Losinski said Madison County Sheriff's deputies killed the animal. Other campers in the area were also alerted. Losinski praised the family for its vigilance and quick thinking. A soldier accused of fatally stabbing, strangling and buing the body of the mother of his then-14-year-old girlfriend argued Tuesday that only the daughter was to blame for her mom’s death in Pennsylvania in 2015. Prosecutors claimed they unearthed text messages 21-year-old Caleb Baes sent to his then-girlfriend Jamie Silvonek showing that he feared losing his job at Ft. Aug. 5, 2016: Dueling obituaries for Leroy Black are seen in the Press of Atlantic City (Twitter/NJ.com) A New Jersey man who died this week of lung cancer has attained posthumous notoriety after his "loving wife" and "longtime girlfriend" placed dueling obituaries in the same newspaper. According to the Philly Voice, the obituaries for Leroy Black appeared on page D6 of Friday's Press of Atlantic City. One death notice notice states that Black is survived by his wife, Bearetta Harrison Black, his son Jazz, and two other children from a different relationship.  Below the first obituary is another notice that incorporates a nickname for Black, "Blast." It makes no mention of Black's wife, but does say he is survived by son Jazz, six siblings and "long-tome [sic] girlfriend Princess Hall." Black died Tuesday at the age of 55 due to "cancer of the lungs due to fiberglass exposure," according to the girlfriend's obit.  A funeral home spokesman told the Philly Voice that two obituaries for Black were necessary because "the wife wanted it one way, and the girlfriend wanted it another way."   Politically correct tyranny is afoot at the University of Houston. I was recently made aware of a student at the university who was suspended for 50 days by the student govement association and ordered to attend diversity training over a reference she made about the Black Lives Matter crowd. “#ForgetBlackLivesMatter; more like AllLivesMatter,” wrote Rohini Sethi, the vice president of the school’s student govement association. Her belief that every life matters set off a firestorm of controversy among students – including the Black Student Union. They were among several predominantly African-American groups who demanded that Ms. Sethi be punished for exercising her First Amendment rights. “For her to say on her social media ‘forget black lives matter,’ it’s almost as if to say if all of us were to die tomorrow, she wouldn’t care,” BSU president Kadidja Kone told the Washington Post. “Just for her to say, ‘forget Black Lives Matter,’ is a punch in the stomach, student Nala Hughes told ABC 13 News in Houston. The 100 Collegiate Men, an organization for black students, also condemned the idea that all lives matter. “As of today, African American students do not feel welcome, comfortable, represented, valued or even acknowledged at the University of Houston,” read a statement provided to the Post. “Students at the University of Houston want to feel adequately represented. They do not feel that this is being accomplished as long as Rohini Sethi is in office.” In order to placate the torches and pitchfork mob, the student govement association gave SGA President Shane Smith full authority to mete out a punishment.
