  • NEW OUTREACH: Trump will go into African-American communities to win minority vote, aide says

  •   Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Sunday that the Republican presidential nominee now plans to go directly into African-American communities to deliver his full-forced appeal to black voters, while also trying to explain Trump’s changing policies on illegal immigration. “These events are already being planned,” the newly-promoted Conway told “Fox News Sunday.” “We’re fighting for every single vote. He’s going to take [his message] to where people vote.” To be sure, Trump over roughly the past two weeks has increased his efforts to appeal to black voters, arguing that the policies of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and those of other Democratic lawmakers have failed residents in many U.S. cities, particularly African-Americans. “Hillary Clinton-backed policies are responsible for the problems in the inner cities today, and a vote for her is a vote for another generation of poverty, high crime, and lost opportunities,” Trump said at an Aug. 17 , ...ادامه مطلب

  • WAR DRUMS? North Korea threatens nuke first-strike on South, US — as China saber-rattles its neighbors

  •   North Korea threatened Monday to launch a nuclear first-strike and tu Seoul and Washington, D.C., into "a heap of ashes" — a threat that comes on the heels of China using its military to signal that it, too, would go to war to enforce its territorial claims. While Pyongyang’s threat isn't new, it comes as South Korea and the U.S. begin joint military exercises amid the defection of a senior North Korean diplomat and a U.S. plan to place a defense missile system in South Korea. Tension in the region already was heightened after China last week flashed its newest offensive weapons during war games in the Sea of Japan, exercises that put on display Beijing's latest-generation frigate and long-range bombers as a waing to its neighbors —and the U.S. — that if is not ready to negotiate its territorial claims. China has grown increasingly assertive over its claim to a chai, ...ادامه مطلب

  • CHINA EXTENDS MILITARY REACH Beijing builds first overseas outpost

  •   DORALEH, Djibouti –  It was February this year when camel drivers first spotted the Chinese troops staking out a patch of coastal scrubland about 8 miles from the largest U.S. military base in Africa. Chinese navy ships had visited this tiny East African nation before. They sometimes picked up supplies in the old French port, farther down the arid coast, during antipiracy patrols off Somalia. This time, the Chinese military was here to stay. The camel herders watched as the troops secured a plot next to a construction site where a vast new bulk and container port is taking shape. The 90-acre plot is where Beijing is building its first overseas military outpost—a historic step that marks a bold new phase in its evolution as a world power. Due for completion next year, the naval outpost is expected to feature weapons stores, ship and helicopter maintenance facilities and pos, ...ادامه مطلب

  • NO MAN'S LAND Princeton begins to phase out male-leaning words

  • People walk around the Princeton University campus in New Jersey (Reuters) Princeton has become no man’s land. The famed Ivy League institution rolled out a series of gender-neutral terms aimed at removing the word “man” and other male-leaning language from official school material. As first reported Thursday by the conservative campus news outfit The College Fix, Princeton’s Human Resources and Office of Communications issued a four-page memo filled with examples of gender-neutral terminology that must now be used in official school documents, such as: The word “actress” should be replaced by “actor.” A “cameraman” must now be called a “camera operator.” There will be no more references to a “cleaning lady,” but instead an “office cleaner.” New students are no longer “freshmen” but rather “first-year students.” A “mailman” no longer delive,no man's sky,no man's sky update,no man's sky review,no man's sky 1 04,no man's sky patch,no man's sky reddit,no man's sky pc,no man's sky mods,no man's sky release,no man's sky xbox one ...ادامه مطلب

  • UPHILL BATTLE: Plumes of smoke from massive Southern California wildfire seen from space, firefighters attack inferno from all angles

  •   SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. –  Twisted metal gates and rusted mailboxes remained where houses once stood. Flames had tued a lot full of cars — including some vintage models — into a junkyard of hollowed-out shells. Countless trees were scorched or gone. Scenes of destruction were everywhere Thursday after a huge wildfire sped through mountains and high desert 60 miles east of Los Angeles so swiftly that it took seasoned firefighters off guard. But the day also brought the biggest gains yet against the blaze, with containment jumping from 22 percent, up from just 4 percent when the day began. The fire has bued 56 square miles. An aerial flyover revealed significant property loss, but crews were just beginning to comb through the rubble to document the devastation. "Most of the areas where there was structural damage, they're still smoldering," U.S. Forest Service spokesman, ...ادامه مطلب

  • 'JUST ANOTHER JOB'? Goebbels' secretary opens up about life in Nazi regime

  • Magda Goebbels, left, Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels in 1938. Even 71 years after she last typed a letter for one of the most infamous monsters of the Adolf Hitler regime, a former secretary for Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels refers to the murder of six million people as “the matter of the Jews” and says telling her life story has nothing to do with “clearing my conscience.” Brunhilde Pomsel, 105, spoke to The Guardian shortly after a film about her time as a Nazi aide, "A German Life," was released at the Munich Film Festival. Pomsel was one of Goebbels’ six secretaries, hired by the ministry of propaganda in 1942 when she was 31 years old. She described Goebbels – who rallied Germany to Hitler’s cause and covered up the German ruler’s crimes – in glowing terms, commenting on his “gentlemanly countenance” and remarking about his well-kept nails. “He ha, ...ادامه مطلب
