BOLSTERED BY POLLS: Trump camp attacks Clinton, says Americans understand illegal immigration plan

  •   Top Trump campaign officials on Sunday expressed optimism about recent poll numbers amid the fallout from Democratic rival Hillary Clinton’s FBI email investigation and sought to defend the Republican presidential nominee's immigration plan in advance of the White House race intensifying after Labor Day. “The polling data that you showed earlier really tells the tale,” Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told ABC’s “This Week.” “Hillary Clinton is having a hard time being accepted as a truthful and honest candidate vis-à-vis the American people.”  Clinton’s poll numbers have dropped in recent weeks amid further revelations about her use of a private email server while secretary of state and connections between Clinton Foundation donors and the State Department during and after her tenure at the agency. The RealClearPolitics polls average showed Clinton leading Donald Trump by as many as 8 percentage points in mid-August, when the first-time candidate m, ...ادامه مطلب

  •   Newly released State Department emails shed light on top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s close dealings with Clinton Foundation matters while she was working at the State Department – as well as aides' frustration with their boss’s email practices.  Emails obtained by Fox News show how Abedin used her State Department email address to deal with issues relating to a Clinton Global Initiative event. In an email dated Sept. 16, 2009, Abedin was forwarded an email chain about how campaign donor Geri Shapiro first accepted an invitation to an event, but then declined when she discovered that her husband was not allowed to attend.  Abedin responded from her State Department email: “Why was she invited in the first place?” The emails, first obtained by Citizens United, come as new questions are being raised about the relationship between the Clinton Foundation and State Department when Clinton was secretary of state. • NEW OUTREACH: Trump will go into African-American communities to win minority vote, aide says

  •   Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Sunday that the Republican presidential nominee now plans to go directly into African-American communities to deliver his full-forced appeal to black voters, while also trying to explain Trump’s changing policies on illegal immigration. “These events are already being planned,” the newly-promoted Conway told “Fox News Sunday.” “We’re fighting for every single vote. He’s going to take [his message] to where people vote.” To be sure, Trump over roughly the past two weeks has increased his efforts to appeal to black voters, arguing that the policies of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and those of other Democratic lawmakers have failed residents in many U.S. cities, particularly African-Americans. “Hillary Clinton-backed policies are responsible for the problems in the inner cities today, and a vote for her is a vote for another generation of poverty, high crime, and lost opportunities,” Trump said at an Aug. 17 , ...ادامه مطلب

The KPA said in a statement that the soldiers' actions have seriously threatened the safety of North Korean troops and disrupted their normal monitoring activities. It said the activities have further raised the anger of North Korean soldiers at a time when the Korean Peninsula has reached the "brink of war" due to last Monday's start of annual joint milita, ...ادامه مطلب

  • A 'DANGEROUS' MESSAGE GOP senator says $400M payment to Iran emboldens America's enemies

  •   Sen. Tom Cotton suggested Sunday that he’ll accept President Obama’s explanation that the roughly $400 million in cash to Iran amid the country holding several Americans captive was part of a decades-old settlement, but said the move sends a “dangerous” message to terrorists and others around the world. “He said this payment was not a ransom,” Cotton, R-Ark., a top critic of Obama’s recent Iran nuclear deal, said on “Fox News Sunday.” “It doesn't really matter though what President Obama says. It matters what the Iranians think and it matters what dictators and terrorists and gangsters all around the world think. And they clearly think that this was a ransom payment … That's why it's so dangerous.” The freshman senator also accused administration officials of stonewalling Congress and the American public about the specifics of the deal and the cash delivery roughly six months ago, continuing his criticism last week of the deal. “We didn't know the cash payment, for instance,” Cotton said. “We didn't know that it was paid for with bills that could be easily laundered or used for terrorism or support for Iran's allies throughout the region. And we didn't know that the Department of Justice opposed it. … There are still a lot of questions left to be answered. And the Obama administration continues to stonewall on this.” The first-term senator also used a litany of strong words to describe the money delivery, in Euro notes, and how the administration behaved, including acting like a “third world gun runner” and a “drug cartel to the world’s most dangerous terror state.” News reports surfaces Tuesday about of the money being flown to Tehran in an unmarked aircraft -- on pallets and wrapped in cellophane. Within hours, the administration said the delivery and the release of the hostages were unrelated. And Obama said Thursday at the Pentagon: “We announced these payments … many months ago. • AMERICANS' LONG WAIT Pastor: Hostages forced to wait in Iran for 2nd plane

  • Pastor Saeed Abedini, one of four American hostages released from Iran earlier this year, revealed in an interview with FOX Business Network’s Trish Regan that he and his fellow prisoners had to wait for hours at the airport until a second plane arrived on orders from police. Continue Reading Below “He told me we are waiting for another plane. And if that plane takes off then we are going to let you go,” said Abedini. He noted that the plane and pilot were there, and everyone was ready to go, but they didn’t leave until 10 a.m. the next day. They eventually flew to the U.S. in the plane that had been sitting at the airport oveight. The account comes amid controversy over a $400 million payment the Obama administration made to Iran when the American prisoners were released. Officials say the payment was strictly connected with a legal settlement in an unrelated case, and President Obama insisted Thursday it was not “ransom.” More From FOXBusiness.com... But Republican lawmakers say the money was clearly used to buy the prisoners’ freedom. Abedini could not say whether the other plane contained money. When asked whether he believes the U.S. paid the Iranian govement a ransom for his release, Abedini said he has his suspicions, but “they didn’t’ talk about money.” Continue Reading Below ADVERTISEMENT “We call them terrorists and I don’t believe they are going to use this money for building orphanages, which I was arrested for, but I prefer that the politicians answer this question.” Abedini said he is more conceed about worsening human rights conditions in Iran. “I’m very grateful about my release and freedom, but there are some people still left behind and Christians who are still in prison,” he said. “Two days ago some of my friends… have been executed because of their faith. Every Wednesday they execute 100 people.” He also said, “First of all, I’m so thankful for my freedom. …There is nothing like a life of being free.” Let's block ads! بخوانید, ...ادامه مطلب

  •   An American woman was killed and five other people injured in a stabbing attack in London’s Russell Square by a Norwegian man of Somali origin who was arrested after the incident, authorities said. • NO LEVINSON 'RANSOM'? Son of American held in Iran seeks answers

  •   Hours after reports surfaced that the U.S. govement discreetly airlifted $400 million to Iran in January just as long-held American hostages in the Islamic Republic were being released – a payment some have called a “ransom” – the son of a man still thought to be held in Iran is asking why his dad wasn’t part of the deal. Tuesday’s Wall Street Joual report of the previously undisclosed money transfer was termed “paying ransom to kidnappers” by Sen. Mark Kirk, R.-Ill., one of several lawmakers who expressed shock and dismay at the news. State Department spokesman John Kirby, however, said the cash was not related to the release of four Americans – Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian; ex-Marine Amir Hekmati; Christian pastor Saeed Abedini and Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari. Instead, Kirby said the nearly half a billion dollar airlift was the first installment in a $1.7 billion settlement to resolve a dispute that dated back to 1979. But Dan Levinson isn’t questioning the purpose of the money; he just wants to know why his father hasn’t come home. “As part of this [Iran nuclear deal], Iran promised to do everything they could to bring my dad home and so far they haven’t followed up,” Levinson told Greta Van Susteren during "On the Record" Wednesday night. “I went over there, they didn’t have any answers.” Levinson’s father, Bob Levinson, an ex-FBI agent and CIA contractor, disappeared on an Iranian island in March 2007. Iran has never admitted to holding Bob Levinson captive, which his son thinks could be the major hurdle in bringing his father back. “They’re not saying that and that has been a roadblock for everything,” the younger Levinson said. White House Press Secretary Josh Eaest said in January that Bob Levinson may no longer be held in Iran. But Dan is confident the Iranians have custody and maintains that his father is alive. “We believe he’s alive, the FBI believes he’s alive, they’re tracking every lead and they said there’s no reason to believe he’, ...ادامه مطلب
