GAME OVER? Cops may boycott 49ers over Kaepernick protest

  •   Authorities in Northe Califoia have threatened to stop working San Francisco 49ers games in response to Colin Kaepeick sitting during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice. In a letter obtained by KNTV, the Santa Clara police union told the 49ers organization that officers wouldn’t work at the stadium if it doesn’t “take action” against Kaepeick over his protest. The station noted that about 70 Santa Clara police officers work eight home games per year. "The board of directors of the Santa Clara Police Officer's Association has a duty to protect its members and work to make all of their workings environments free of harassing behavior,” the letter added. Kaepeick’s decision to sit for the national anthem and to wear socks in practice depicting pigs as cops has drawn much scrutiny from the Santa Clara officers. Police said they are angered and frustrated with the 6-year veteran. • WORST FAR FROM OVER? Hermine expected to regain strength, hit coast

  •   DEKLE BEACH, Fla. –  The first hurricane to hit Florida in more than a decade wiped away beachside buildings and toppled trees onto homes Friday before plowing inland on a path that could send it rolling up the densely populated East Coast with heavy rain, high winds and flooding. Hermine quickly weakened to a tropical storm and was spinning inland along the North Carolina coast late Friday. But the National Hurricane Center predicted it would regain hurricane strength late in the weekend after emerging over the Atlantic Ocean. The system could then lash coastal areas as far north as Connecticut and Rhode Island through Labor Day. "Anyone along the U.S. East Coast needs to be paying close attention this weekend," said Dennis Feltgen, a spokesman for the National Hurricane Center. In Florida, Hermine's main impact came in the form of power outages and damage from storm surges. A homeless man south of Gainesville died when a tree fell on him, Gov. Rick Scott said. • BOMBS OVER LIBYA Obama quietly extends US campaign against ISIS

  •   President Obama has extended the U.S. military’s combat mission in Libya for another month at the request of senior military leaders, two defense officials with knowledge of the order told Fox News.   The decision keeps two U.S. Navy warships off the coast of Libya to continue striking ISIS and assist Libyan ground forces fighting the terror group in the coastal city of Sirte. One of the U.S. warships had been scheduled to go to the Persian Gulf in September to begin airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria and keep an eye on Iran, a week after four provocations between Iranian gunboats and U.S. Navy ships -- one of which resulted in waing shots being fired by a U.S. warship. The other, a U.S. Navy destroyer, was supposed to head to the Black Sea near Russia next month. But both plans will be put on hold, according to one defense official.  USS Wasp, a large amphibious assault ship loaded with over 1,000 Marines as well as Harrier jets and Cobra attack helicopters, wil, bombs over libya ...ادامه مطلب

  • CLIMB CONTROVERSY Officials: Couple faked photos of Everest ascent

  • Indian climber Satyarup Sidhantha holds on his right hand a photograph that shows him on Mount Everest, along with what he says is the Indian couple's doctored photo. (AP Photo/ Bikas Das, File) Nepal mountaineering authorities have determined that an Indian couple faked a Mount Everest ascent earlier this year by altering photographs to make it appear they were on the summit, officials said Tuesday. Mountaineering Department official Gyanendra Shrestha said the govement has canceled the climbing certificates issued to Indian citizens Dinesh and Tarakeshwari Rathod and banned them from climbing any mountain in the Himalayan nation for 10 years. They had claimed they scaled the 29,035-foot peak in May and the govement issued them climbing certificates based on the photographs. Their declaration was disputed by fellow climbers and an investigation was launched. Another Indian climber, Satyarup Sidhantha from Bangalore, said it was his photograph that the couple altered to make it, ...ادامه مطلب

  • OBAMA'S BROKEN PROMISES ObamaCare coverage options disappearing, report finds

  •   Nearly a third of U.S. counties will be left with just one insurance option next year on the ObamaCare exchanges, according to a new analysis fueling waings about the impact of the insurance company exodus from markets across the country.  The Kaiser Family Foundation study found residents in Pinal County, Ariz., are even at risk of having no insurance options on the exchanges, which provide subsidized plans.  Republicans seized on the report Monday to claim that the health care overhaul is not providing the choices promised by President Obama and others.   "The president repeatedly promised that his health care law would provide more choices, ‘bend the cost curve,’ and allow Americans to keep the plans they liked and could afford. He failed to live up to those promises, and families are paying the price," Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., said in a statement, noting the majority of counties in Missouri could be left with just one insurance option on the exchanges.  The Kaise, obama, obamacare, obama movie, obama phone, obama net worth, obama age, obama approval rating, obama speech, obama twitter, obama family ...ادامه مطلب

  • RACISM ADDICTION? Church offers 12-step plan to help overcome bias

  • Sign outside Trinity United Church of Christ in Concord, N.C. (Rev. J. Nathan King) A North Carolina church reportedly is raising eyebrows after launching a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous-inspired 12-step program for racists. Trinity United Church of Christ in Concord holds the “Racists Anonymous” meetings on Wednesdays, Fox 46 Charlotte reported last week. Carol Stanley, who facilitates the meetings, told the station that no one is pointing fingers. “But we're becoming clearer and clearer on the unconscious racism that we all carry,” she said. “It's a way to address one's own racism as a spiritual practice and discipline.” The church says on Facebook that the Racists Anonymous meetings are organized around AA’s 12-steps of recovery. The first step is to “come to admit that I am powerless over my addiction to racism in ways I am unable to recognize fully, let alone manage.” The program, started by Trinity's pastor Rev. J. Nathan King, comes at a time when the subject, ...ادامه مطلب

  • MEDAL OF HONOR PUSH Review of 2002 Afghan firefight spurs controversy

  • Tech. Sgt. John Chapman is being considered for the Medal of Honor. (U.S. Air Force) A new review of surveillance video of a 2002 firefight between a US special ops team and Al Qaeda fighters in the mountains of Afghanistan that left seven Americans dead is now the focus of controversy—with the Air Force secretary pushing the Medal of Honor for one of their own killed during the battle. The controversy involves airman John Chapman, the radioman for a SEAL Team 6 reconnaissance unit involved in the firefight. The New York Times reported Saturday that the Air Force’s analysis of video taken by a drone during the action shows that after being left for dead Chapman fought alone bravely against Al Qaeda insurgents. The Air Force concluded Chapman killed two fighters with the terror group—one in hand-to-hand combat—after the SEAL unit had retreated down the mountain in the face of withering enemy gunfire, the paper reported. • KELLY FILE EXCLUSIVE: Wikileaks' Assange slams 'politicization' of media covering presidential election

  •   Wikileaks founder Julian Assange criticized the U.S. media Thursday for what he called "incredible politicization" in its coverage of the presidential election. Last month, a trove of Democratic National Committee emails leaked on the eve of the party's convention revealed a bias against Vermont Sen. Beie Sanders' presidential campaign and led to the resignation of chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. "I'd like to believe that no media organization would not publish the DNC emails," Assange told Fox News' "The Kelly File". "[But] I think MSNBC wouldn't publish [nor would] The New York Times ... That's sad." Assange discussed Wikileaks offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the killing of DNC staffer Seth Rich, who was shot and killed in Washington early on July 10.  "Why are you so interested in Seth Rich’s killer?" Kelly asked Assange. • CAUGHT IN A PERFECT STORM? Email revelations — with more to come — Foundation/State ties and hint of a WikiLeaks 'October surprise' threaten to overtake Clinton campaign

  •   With 75 days before voters pick their new president, email revelations are threatening to overtake Hillary Clinton’s campaign – with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange hurling another log on an already raging fire with a vow to release “significant” Clinton documents. In an exclusive interview Wednesday night with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, Assange was asked whether new information culled from Clinton emails would be released before the general election: "Yes, absolutely.”  Asked whether it could be an election game-changer, Assange told Kelly, “It depends on how it catches fire." Dana Perino, former White House press secretary under the George W. Bush administration and co-host of Fox News’ “The Five,” predicted Assange would release the files before the third presidential debate, since “it is the one everyone pays attention to.” WikiLeaks is the same gr,caught in a trap, caught in a sticky situation, caught in a mosh, caught in a crossfire, caught in a lie, caught in a mosh lyrics, caught in a bad romance, caught in a landslide, caught in a trap lyrics, caught in action ...ادامه مطلب

We did come to clean up the floods," he said in a telephone interview. Like thousands of other south Louisiana residents, he had to deal with the malodorous muck left after torrential downpours swamped drainage systems, including rivers and streams. The floodwaters that killed at least 13 people are slowly falling, giving way to the hard slog of cleaning out, rebuilding, or just finding somewhere to live.
