BIAS ALERT NY Times aligns Trump with sext-crazed Weiner

  •   The New York Times is so disgusted with Anthony Weiner that it has deployed the Paper of Record's version of the nuclear option: equating him to Donald Trump. Outside of the fact that both hail from New York, the comparison may seem like a stretch. But following revelations the former Democratic congressman and husband of Hillary Clinton's top aide sexted raunchy selfies as his little boy lay next to him, columnist Frank Bruni sought to smear Trump with sco eaed by Weiner.   The food critic-tued-pundit drew the oddball analogy in an Aug. 30 column titled, "Donald Trump's Irredeemable Twin." Bruni's colleagues in the Old Gray Lady's opinion section also let slip their election stances with such titles as "The Duplicity of Donald Trump," "Donald Trump's Bigotry," and "Pariahs for Donald Trump." Bruni himself penned a July column titled, “The Citrusy Mystery of Trump’s Hair.” But in the more recent piece, Bruni managed to compare the GOP presidential nominee to ser, ...ادامه مطلب

  • BIAS ALERT CNN scrubs 'Crooked' from Trump tweet on Hillary

  • Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump campaigns in Ohio. (AP) CNN ensured a Sunday night Donald Trump statement about Hillary Clinton wasn’t “crooked” – but that might be the entire problem for the news network. A tweet from the Republican presidential candidate appeared to be edited and scrubbed of the word “crooked” when a graphic on Trump was shown Sunday night, Breitbart News reported. The only word omitted from the tweet was part of Trump’s infamous descriptor for his Democratic opponent, whom he almost unfailingly calls “Crooked Hillary.” I think that both candidates, Crooked Hillary and myself, should release detailed medical records. I have no problem in doing so! Hillary? — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 28, 2016 No other words were left out of the CNN graphic or anchor Jim Sciutto’s read of the tweet. • RACISM ADDICTION? Church offers 12-step plan to help overcome bias

  • Sign outside Trinity United Church of Christ in Concord, N.C. (Rev. J. Nathan King) A North Carolina church reportedly is raising eyebrows after launching a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous-inspired 12-step program for racists. Trinity United Church of Christ in Concord holds the “Racists Anonymous” meetings on Wednesdays, Fox 46 Charlotte reported last week. Carol Stanley, who facilitates the meetings, told the station that no one is pointing fingers. “But we're becoming clearer and clearer on the unconscious racism that we all carry,” she said. “It's a way to address one's own racism as a spiritual practice and discipline.” The church says on Facebook that the Racists Anonymous meetings are organized around AA’s 12-steps of recovery. The first step is to “come to admit that I am powerless over my addiction to racism in ways I am unable to recognize fully, let alone manage.” The program, started by Trinity's pastor Rev. J. Nathan King, comes at a time when the subject, ...ادامه مطلب

  • BIAS ALERT Mainstream media own up to Trump bias — proudly

  •   Donald Trump’s claim that the “crooked media” has it in for him has prompted much soul-searching with the Fourth Estate, and its conclusion appears to be that he's right -- and that's just fine with some news organizations.  “I’m not running against Crooked Hillary,” Trump told a crowd in Fairfield, Conn., last week. “I’m running against the crooked media.” Lately some, including The New York Times, Vox and Bill Moyers’ website, have not only owned up to Trump's accusation, they've embraced it. “If you deplore media cowardice, you might think this is a good thing, not because Trump is a mortal danger to this country, although he is, but because it means the press is doing its job,” Neil Gabler wrote on the joualism website of Moyers, the longtime PBS newsman who cut his teeth as a spokesman for Democratic President Lyndon Johnson. “Call it partisan , ...ادامه مطلب

  • BIAS ALERT Prof to class: “Balance is an offense to the truth’

  •   Critics have accused academia of subtly indoctrinating students with a liberal agenda for years, but the possibility of a Donald Trump presidency has brought one Pennsylvania political science professor out into the open. Gettysburg College Prof. Kathleen Iannello announced in an Op-Ed penned for Philly.com that she will not even try to treat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and GOP choice Trump equally because, in her mind, Trump is a “lightning rod for promoting further hate.” “My approach for the fall semester will be boldly honest: It is a disservice to students to attempt to provide balance when I know that balance is an offense to the truth,” Iannello wrote. • BIAS ALERT Despite supporting Obama, media links Lochte, Trump

  •   Olympian Ryan Lochte behaved like an ugly American and then lied about it, so he must be a Trump supporter, right? Media outlets led by the Huffington Post have decided so. Nothing other than the swimming star’s bad behavior was enough to send the website’s Cynthia Dill on a flight of fancy – and bizarre assumptions. “How much do you want to bet that Ryan Lochte is a Donald Trump supporter?” Dill wrote, derisively referring to both Trump and Lochte as “bros.” “And is it me, or does shirtless Lochte in the pool resemble shirtless … Putin, Trump’s idol, on a horse?” Related Image Expand / Contract There's no basis for saying Lochte is a Trump supporter, but that didn't stop several media outlets from linking them. •   Amid rampant online speculation about Hillary Clinton's health, one New York Times columnist has a solution – simply get Google to “fix” the search results. The theories about Clinton’s health, often under the hashtag #HillarysHealth, have been gaining traction on social media in particular. Democrats have dismissed the claims as a mix of conspiracy theories and misinformation. But now New York Times tech columnist Farhad Manjoo has called on Google to step in.  “Google should fix this. It shouldn't give quarter to conspiracy theorists,” he tweeted. A year ago, Clinton’s doctor said she was in “excellent physical condition.” But that has not stopped speculation, with some Republicans including Donald Trump weighing in.  Trump said in a speech last week that Clinton “lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS, and all the many adversaries we face, bias alert, bias alert fox news, fox bias alert, fox news bias alert irony, amber alert bias ...ادامه مطلب

Clinton has said if she is elected president, the controversial family foundation will cease taking foreign donations, but other media outlets, including the Boston Globe and the liberal Huffington Post, have called for it to be shut down altogether.
